Food Intolerance | Swing into spring with an elimination diet | TYI Canada

Spring is now literally just around the corner! but we’ll get straight to the point, we want you to know what the benefits are of an elimination diet, especially when you have a food intolerance. Here are three reasons why you should banish offending food items from your diet:

1) It will relieve bloat and headaches

An elimination diet will help you to relieve certain intolerance symptoms, all of which include bloat, headaches and even nausea. This is because these intolerance symptoms may have been caused by food intolerance, and your eczema may have even been a result of your food intolerance. It could be possible that you have overindulged on a certain item and therefore developed an intolerance.

2) Give yourself an energy boost

Reducing your fatigue symptoms is important, and this can be done with an elimination diet. It means that you might feel both happier and healthier in yourself as a person, and can be done by literally removing a certain food from your diet. It sounds easy and if it is your favourite food it can be hard, but it is essential that you do this in order to avoid certain symptoms.

3) Cleanse your mind

Don’t worry about your food intolerances anymore! If you do an elimination diet then your symptoms should be alleviated and you will not have to even think about any embarrassing symptoms. At the end of your elimination diet, you can look forward to that party knowing that eating anything and everything will not cause you issues any longer.

So, what do you need to do?

You need to take an intolerance test so that you can identify your food intolerances. Stick to your elimination diet without any exceptions for two weeks. It may be difficult at first, but it is essential to ensure you can identify your intolerances. An example would be: if you are eliminating gluten from your diet, then embark on a gluten-free diet.
